This, that, and the other…

Daily writing prompt
What could you do differently?

Since this feels sort of like a woulda, coulda, shoulda question, it seemed appropriate that I answer with a this, that, and the other sort of response. Here goes…

I could walk differently, talk differently, and even wear my socks differently. Perhaps I could dance a new step, change the way I laugh, or maybe start wearing wigs. I could change my style, my clothes, or possibly change what shows I watch on television.

When it comes to looking on the inside, I suppose that I could pray harder and longer, read more of the bible each day, and even spend more time thinking of others instead of myself. I could love deeper, laugh longer, and live with a deeper purpose, possibly.

At the end of the day, I suppose that we all might consider a handful of things we should have, could have, or wished we might have done differently. We may even wake with these thoughts swirling around inside our heads, each morning.

If you ask me this question tomorrow, it will most likely be a completely different answer. Why? Because each and every day, we encounter situations that will either turn out well, or maybe not so well. From those circumstances comes the thought of whether we could have done a thing differently, in order to see a better outcome.

Aren’t you glad that I didn’t decide to offer you liver and onions, instead of my normal cookies? Don’t worry… I’ve no intention of changing that part of these daily prompts. I wouldn’t dream of it!

Start Answering Better Prompts…

Daily writing prompt
What could you do differently?

I could say I’m sorry for what I’m about to say regarding the prompts… but I’m not gonna… and YES, I said gonna!

As a rule, I make an honest effort to come at the daily prompt with a positive attitude, for the sake of the community. We all know that they do not have a prompt department anymore, and haven’t for the last two years… that’s why the prompts just keep repeating themselves, like a rolodex.

The problem I have with the prompt is this: if you’re not going to have a department to support a certain product or feature… shut it down!

I find it incredibly irritating that WordPress still uses the prompt system, if it’s only meant for new users. If it isn’t there for my use, the long term paying customer, then get it off my screen!

The reason I’ve been answering and faithfully re-answering the silly questions is to reach out and be a part of the community. What I’ve discovered, however, is that I’ve amassed over 1300 subscribers, of which, maybe only about 20 regular folks stick around for more than a day or two.

From now on, if the prompt doesn’t blow air up my skirt, all you guys are gonna get is a cookie!

Just be grateful that I AM actually always here, and my cookies are fresh and not re-cycled or half-eaten…

No More Woulda Coulda Shoulda…

What could you do differently?

Since we have already passed through the idea of whether to look in the past verses the future, thanks to one of last weeks prompt questions, you already know that I don’t look back but forward only… the past is done and gone.

Plus, this is Sunday and I’m listening to worship music and the song playing right now is this…

I had to share it because it answered this prompt better than I ever could… “light a match, leave the past, burn the ships and don’t you look back”…

God gave me my answer for today’s prompt so if anyone takes issue… take it up with Him!

Here, have a cookie…
