Who Knew?

Hey guys, it’s me Gabe…

Bailey and I thought it would be fun to play dress-up while mom’s out shopping this morning. Everything was fine til we got to the goat. Who knew that a goat would look so ridiculous in coveralls?

Oh well, at least we look cute! And that was really what our goal was, any how. Why was looking cute such an important goal for us? I’ll tell you why, my friends.

When mom goes to the store, she gets food. When she gets that food, she then brings that food back to the barn. Our cuteness factor has two purposes:

  1. One distracts with cuteness while the other pilfers the shopping bag and makes off with the treats.
  2. Cuteness often produces goodies without even having to employ puppy ninja tactics.

Who knows, we might even get bonus goodies for making her laugh about the goat’s coverall catastrophe.

One can dream…

Warning Labels!

Daily writing prompt
If you could un-invent something, what would it be?

A warning label is like a band aid… sometimes, you just gotta rip it off! Once that’s done, you’ll feel better!

For example, if a car battery needs a warning label that counsels you NOT to drink the battery acid that’s inside the box… removing said warning label from the battery will most certainly solve that problem!

Just sayin!

Roadblocks and Detours…

From here on out, or at least until our circumstances change, there won’t be any fresh new pictures in the content of my blogs! Microsoft finally put the free stuff into lockdown and needs a paid subscription, so yeah…

Honestly, I’m so frustrated! My whole spring theme will now go in the trash bin, since visuals were a big part of those future adventures. I have to rethink a great deal of things, so there’s that!

Oh well, I don’t call myself a writer for nothing! I’ll figure something out, but you’re gonna be eating some left-over cookies for a bit… sorry.

Unfortunately, this also means that there won’t be any more pics to help speed-read through my stuff, just in case folks were doing that. I’m not putting the fault with you, my friends. I think that I’ve been too reliant on visuals from the AI programs, becoming a lazy writer and letting the pictures lead you along.

I think, maybe it’s time to go back to the old way of things and clean my literary hands up, so to speak!

When in doubt, I first seek God for his purpose and direction, comparing my vision of things with His to ensure that they are in alignment. Once that’s been sorted, I’m then free to pursue ways of writing that will bring fulfillment to not only you, the reader, but also myself (the one doing the imagining).

Whatever I do choose to write for my blog entries, trust that they’ve been vetted by the big guy, Himself! My desire is to produce good fruit, so with that in mind, I’m sure there’ll be good things to land on these pages.

Bear with me, friends… when God is in the works, things always seem to work themselves out, ya know?!

Sometimes…

Daily writing prompt
Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

Sometimes…

Sometimes, it’s the way he looks at me and smiles.

Then there are times where he doesn’t even have to smile or anything… I can see it in his eyes.

Sometimes, it’s the way he laughs at the silly things I say.

But there are still those moments when things aren’t so funny… he won’t laugh or say anything at all, really. He just rests his shoulder against mine to let me know that he’s there.

Sometimes, it’s the little things he does… like bringing me that first cup of coffee in the morning, or surprising me with my favorite candy bar. It’s not even about receiving a gift, it’s about the planning or forethought, if you will. It makes me feel so loved that he was thinking about me, even when I wasn’t with him. You know, sometimes I’ll wake up from the sensation of him tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear… he’d been lying there watching me, as I slept. Isn’t that so adorable!

I could go on and on about all the sometimes that I have felt loved… and these examples are about my husband. I haven’t even gotten to God, yet! If I could share with you all the times that I have felt God’s love, it would fill a book… oh yeah, I already did that!

Let’s just leave it at this:

With enough examples gathered together, one might say that I always feel loved! But, since it was very hard to pick just one time to tell you about, I opted for a handful of my sometimes.

Don’t forget your cookie…

Are We There Yet?

Yep! I think that should just about sum things up for how I’m feeling this morning.

There are days that I simply wish to clock out of this 9 to 5 homeless gig… and just go on vacation.  No, this doesn’t have anything to do with anything… I’m just ready to live like a normal human being, if that’s even a realistic expectation anymore… ugh!

I need a “Suck It Up Buttercup” cookie…

I made enough to share, so help yourself.

Out with the trash…

Where can I reduce clutter in my life, you ask?

Alright, so maybe it was just the imaginary WordPress prompt fairy that asked, but I’ll still answer the question as if you truly wanted to know.

So, in answer to the question, I do have a number of areas that I strive to keep clutter-free.  I made a short list for anyone who wants to use it.

The De-clutter 3 step Miracle Mind Maker-upper:

  1. Keep the mind free of unnecessary language, violence, or negative thoughts… good thoughts in, bad thoughts out!
  2. Pray without ceasing… give everything over to God and do not pick anything back up!
  3. Pursue God throughout scripture… the more time you spend seeking him, the less time you waste, cluttering your life with things of no true value!

How bout them cookies, Gabe…

Wednesday Words…

If Eustace and I can help it, wherever we go and whatever adventure’s we take you on this year… we’re going to try filling them with laughter!

Why?

Well…

Why not?

Laughter is good for the soul…

And, the One whom I follow and serve happens to be in the soul business, and He does have a sense of humor… I’m certain of it!

Where do you think I get my sense of humor from?

It runs in my family!

The pink one…

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite animal?

I don’t have a favorite… but I love strawberry or lemon. Perhaps the flavor in the little pink animal cookies comes close to ticking both boxes… I dunno!

I don’t actually have a favorite real life animal, in case you wondered whether or not I fully understood the daily prompt question. I understood it, but there’s just too many choices within the animal kingdom… I don’t wish to pick just one!

Here, have a cookie…

I know they’re not frosted, but their still pretty good.

Tuesday’s Tinkering…

I’m not really happy with the pictures I used to update Journey With Me’s website for the new year, so I’m sort of on a quest to find a fun theme for this spring.  What to do, what to do?

I could go full nautical, with short stories, ditties, and fun seafaring food recipes… stuff like that.

Or, I could head for the hills with a camping, hiking, woodsy theme…

I don’t think I’m up for foodie stuff on a large scale, and I doubt you are either.  We’ll just keep to the cookies,

with an occasional review from Gabriel, who considers himself a pretty good judge of flavors…

What I am seriously considering is a fun mystery kind of theme.  Some of you may remember when I did several episodes last year called Tuesday Tattler, which read somewhat like a journalist writing a column in a paper…

If I do a mystery theme, I think it would be really fun to take this miniature version of my persona and take her around the world on some hilarious assignments…

If you haven’t noticed yet, I deplore boredom… can’t stand wasting my brain!

And… if I don’t like reading the same old same old, I suspect that you don’t either…

As a writer, it’s important that I keep your reading experience fun and engaging, among other things.  Your thoughts are important to me, so let me know what you want to see more of this year…

And I’ll get right to it!

As Castle says, “It’s what I do!”

I’ll never tell…

No pirate worth their salt would so easily offer up coordinates to their buried treasures… and I’m as salty as they come!

The cookies are free to those dropping by in friendship…

As for the daily prompt question… well, it’s going to have to walk the plank!
