Are We There Yet?

I’ve had to sleep at the barn for the last several nights, what with all the gifts sitting under the tree. Brutus and I have been playing tag team on the barn’s package security duty.

These little ones can be oh so devious…

Quite honestly, I wasn’t at all prepared for it! Who’d have thought they could be so inventive with their numerous attempts at gift pilfering?

So… here I sit, half awake and trying to clear the cobwebs of sleep from my brain, a full day ahead of scheduled package opening. Where is Tilly when I need her? Oh yeah, she’s not due back from the Pole til sometime tomorrow morning.

Why am I looking so haggard, you might be asking? I’ll tell you why…

The babe’s woke me up early, that’s why!

Just after the sun peaked over the ridge this morning, they all began marching about the tree with little signs above their heads, and making an awful racket!

They were apparently voicing their disapproval of having to wait til tomorrow for present opening time! In what was meant to be a song I think, they all started shouting out their little demands… over and over and over again. I have to give them an “E” for effort, because they haven’t stopped sing/shouting for a good bit, now. I keep hearing things like, “all day long, we’ll yell this song”, and “it’s not fair to keep secrets!”

You can tell by the way they’re shouting the song that it’s supposed to be a serious song, but when they sing a “Boo Hoo” chorus in between each verse, I start giggling…

I’m sorry, but when you hear all of their little voices boo hooing in unison, it’s nothing less than A..DOR..A..BLE!

Well… I best finish this cup of coffee and get to it! I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s gonna be a very long day.

Musical Monday…

I shall not be held responsible for what follows…

Gabriel picked the song for our post this morning!

May the lyrics of this song stick to your tongue… ALL DAY LONG!!!

You’re welcome!

Questions…

Good or bad, naughty or nice

Who’s full of sugar and who’s full of spice?

Just three days to go

and I’m sure that you’re hopin…

There won’t be any coal

when your packages open!

Depends on The Character…

Daily writing prompt
Are you a good judge of character?

In all honesty, sometimes I’m rather good at judging a character…

Then again, there’ve been times where I wasn’t…

I think that perhaps it’s better if we slow ourselves down, long enough to get a better picture of things… just sayin!

Don’t forget your cookie…

They’re supposed to look like cookies in the shape of little gavels, but they didn’t exactly turn out the way I’d hoped. Don’t judge!

Maybe?

I realize that I’m only guessing at this, but I am imagining that our miss Tilly must be getting the full tour of elf town, the workshop and of course, the kitchen of Mrs. Clause. I say this about the kitchen because miss Tilly and I secretly made a plan to sneak a picture of her oven… I wish to confirm whether she also uses an Easy Bake Oven.

Don’t laugh… maybe she does use a special magic oven of some sort! What if the Easy Bake Oven I had from childhood was, in fact, a magic device? Maybe Santa pulled a fast one on my mom, or something. I never did look on the back of the box for the manufacturers mailing address, so it’s quite possible that mine was not like all the other children’s ovens! I’m just sayin it’s possible, that’s all!

Besides, look how jolly and round Santa always is, and everyone knows that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach… or at least that’s what I’ve always heard.

I have confidence in Tilly’s sneaking ability, as I’ve experienced it first hand, so there’s a good chance for a successful photo capture. She really is good at the whole sneaking in and out thing… I’m sure that’s why she’s of such help to Santa.

I can only imagine the number of homes now using the more advanced alarm systems and door locks, so it must be quite difficult getting in an out of certain chimneys. Well, that’s what I assume, anyways.

For now, we can only wait for her to come home with the goods, pictures that is… the real goods of Christmas are actually the giggles, joy, heartfelt hugs and love.

If you ask me, it’s the gift of love that’s the greatest goodie in the stocking!

Thursday Thinking…

I couldn’t do it… I just couldn’t!

Don’t judge…

It isn’t my fault…

They’re far too soft and fluffy…

And I accidentally got high on all the puppy breath…

Before I knew what happened…

They both picked me…

SoI say, if ya can’t beat em, join em!

Besides, the lobby has plenty of room, and you all can help with walks and weekend play dates, right!?!?

I just knew you’d agree…

Drum roll, please…

(She taps her Magic Microphone several times for a sound check)

Without further ado, I would like to announce the official welcome of Journey With Me’s first official furry greeters,

The wild and sassy one… (little big pants) Miss Bailey,

And her brother Gabriel (the quiet one), our furry kibble connessuer…

This should keep me busy for a good bit…

We shall see, we shall see!

Survey Says…

Out of a million kids who answered, what are their top 5 grocery items?

Well, according to the poll,

After we remove two sugars and the choolate cookis, we are left with our top 5 answers.

I think sugar wins out… what do you think?

Here, have a cookie while you think about it…

Wednesday Words…

Don’t forget to have your picture taken with Eustace… he’s down in the lobby right now, in case you hadn’t already noticed him as you came in this morning. Poor camel, bless his heart, he’ll need the entire month of January to work off the after-effects of that candy cane infusion.

Tuesday Tinkering…

You know how I’ve been going on about puppies? Well, it suddenly occurred to me that even if I can’t have an actual puppy at the moment, what I can do is create a virtual one… why not, right?!

No need to clean up poo doo, no complaints from the neighbors, and no weighty expenses for all its needs!

So, I thought you might join me in the creation of our lobby’s first furry version of a greeter… you know, like Walmart but better!

Anyways, the first thing one should consider is the look of said greeter. I know that I want a miniature Dachshund of the silky variety…

And yes… it should be oh so fluffy! I would love the color to be that of the creamy vanilla kind, beings that I love coffee and all.

Ok… perfect!

Honestly, I wouldn’t even mind if there were some accent colors…

That’s awful cute, don’t ya think?

Now comes the hard part! Remember how I said that if I were to have a boy, his name could be Gabriel, and if it were a girl, I could call her Bailey? This is the part where we have to choose a boy or a girl…. ughghghghghgh… so hard!

I’m sort of stuck here, folks! I would honestly love to hear your opinions on our choice here, so I can’t move forward until that has been determined.

I will say that if it is a girl, she will have her own little blog entries’ called Bailey’s Daily (puppy fashion critic)…

And if we were to choose a boy, then he would have his little blurbs called Gabe’s Flav’s (puppy food critic)…

Until we make a final decision, I shall be spending some play time with them both… just to be fair.

Seriously, just to be fair…

I’m doing this for you, not me…

The things I’m willing to do for this community… I sure hope everyone knows how much I’m willing do… the sacrifice… the agony of effort… sheesh!
