Humans are a lot like the ocean
What you see is not always what you get
Sometimes you think you know them
But their behavior makes you fret…

On the surface they seem pleasant
Gently rocking you to rest
while their depths are very dark and cold
They hold little love, at best…

You thought they would help you cross the sea
With gentle winds across your sails
They choose, instead, to drag you down
Ripping your mast down with their Gales…

Make sure to check your sailboats gear
Before leaving the sandy shores
Take care to keep your anchor
neatly placed beside the oars…

Treat one another as you would the sea
Sail the ocean with care and purpose
Love others fully, and with all of your heart
This may change what’s beneath their surface…

We both wrote about the ocean depths vs people on the same day.

That’s funny, but in a good way!
