The World is My Oyster…

Daily writing prompt
What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.

While I have no specific list of things off the top of my head that need attempting, I’m confident that if God asks it, it shall be done! If I am walking in faithful obedience to my heavenly Father, my Creator, and King… failure is not in the mix!

Things may not look like we sometimes think they should, and often we must step into a thing with far less ability than we have within us… but, God does not give us a task without providing His strength and skill to complete that which He has asked… so, I’m covered!

Just to put my bible where my mouth is:

Ephesians 3:20-21: God can do anything, working within us through his Spirit.

Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and he will make your paths straight.

Colossians 3:17: Do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father.

Jeremiah 29:11: The Lord has plans for you to prosper and give you hope and a future.

1 John 4: If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

Other Bible verses about God include: Psalm 16:2, Psalm 34:8-10, Psalm 23:6, Psalm 65:11, and Psalm 107:8-9.

Here’s some coffee, tea, cookies…

Enjoy them while you’re reading.

Daily writing prompt
Who are your favorite artists?

The beautiful thing about artists… they come in all shapes, forms and sizes.

Depending on the person who is viewing all the differing genre’s to pick from, there are a myriad of possible answers… possible artists!

I, myself, have a mishmosh of different artists that I consider my favorites.

Though I can appreciate the beauty in paintings and sculptures, they’ve never really drawn me toward those genre’s, as far as picking someone with a particularly good skill! That’s not to say that I don’t think there are some amazing painters and sculptors, I just wouldn’t know the first thing about picking one out above the others.

I would surmise that in terms of picking out favorite anything’s, most people go with what they know. What I know about myself is that I love reading, writing, music and nature… so we will run with that for today’s prompt answer.

In movies, I love Jennifer Garner, Henry Cavell, Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Vigo Mortenson, Julie Andrews… oh, and the list goes on and on, my friends!

In the category of reading, I love C.S. Lewis, Brian Jacques, Rita Mae Brown, Iris Johansen, Tolkien, Rawlings, Judy Bloom… ya, there’s just too many to call up, at the moment.

Now, in terms of writing, there’s Willow, David, Mangus, I.V. Greco, Fibrecraft Grannie, Lou, Cate, Juanita, Banana Cat, Fandango, Willie, Edward, Ophelia, Kevin, and so many others that I don’t have the time to sing their praises… partly, because I don’t know everyone’s actual name.

As far as music goes, if you think you’re going to get an answer for this category, you shall be sadly disappointed! There is simply far to much talent out there for me to limit my favorites to less than probably 40 or 50 artists… and that list changes with each passing year. Some artists will be getting sweeter with time and age, while new talent will be rising up through the masses.

Just sayin…

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

What I find rather hilarious about answering this prompt is all my answers seem to be running in reverse, as far as my age and maturity are concerned.

Back in the day, when everyone my age was playing computer games, I was crocheting, cooking and camping. Then when I got older, and slower, I switched it over to doing the things I should have been doing when I was a kid!

While my arthritis and fibro prevent me from doing any of my usual hobbies, as well as, we are a bit homeless just now… my writing and gaming fingers are still on point!

I wrote something a while back, regarding myself, my husband, and my brother-in-law’s gaming techniques.

If you haven’t read that story yet, or if you want another good laugh, you should click the link.

Either way, don’t forget to grab a fresh cookie on your way out…

What would you do if you lost all your possessions?

Well, I suppose that we would take whatever cash we had in our pocket and buy an old RV. Then we would travel across the entire U.S. in said RV. Then we would live in said RV for four years, before it became broken beyond our ability to repair it. When that happened, I guess we would have to become homeless and live in a motel, until such time that we could afford to live anywhere else.

Ya, I think that about sums up what I would do if I lost all my possessions.

Among the World…

Daily writing prompt
Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

Without meaning to offend anyone, I’m simply being honest and forthright to the daily prompt question… the world has never wanted, nor accepted me as I am, and I spent far too many years trying to fit into the mold offered.

Why do you think I always talk about being in the desert, running away from the cities of men, as I often refer to them?

This isn’t to say that I don’t love people… I do, very much! That’s part of the problem… I’m just too much for most to deal with, truthfully.

Now that I travel safely tucked beneath the folds of Gods love and covering, I enter cities when needed. I no longer get lost or trampled anymore, as I once did. That being said, I still prefer the deserts, the shadows, the alleyways… where there is need!

You must understand that this attitude comes from being in the wilds for so much of my existence, and I fully accept that my opinion may be somewhat jaded.

It’s too bad that I couldn’t take all of what I currently know and have learned, and start out again at the age of about twenty-five. It’s as if the first fifty years of my existence was simply one nightmare after another and from where I sit now, I’ve nothing good to show for it!

No worries though, because I plan on finishing well!

We shall see… we shall see…

Daily writing prompt
What skill would you like to learn?

When I was small it felt like I was the color crayon queen, as I feverishly colored every single page of my color books! I consciously sought to use as many brightly colored crayons as I could muster, on each and every page. It was wonderful… as long as I stayed inside the lines!

When I homeschooled my daughters, I was given the renewed desire to draw and paint. It was like my early school days all over again! We had nearly everything that Crayola offered, as I felt it my motherly duty to provide full courses in every category of education, especially art. The bonus for me was that my daughters were so young, they thought I was amazing at whatever we did. Homeschooling them was like Disneyland for this girl!

With all that being said, I am simply awful at painting… I mean, we’re talking train wreck bad! While I aspire to have the talent of artists such as Picasso and the like… I’m more akin to Bob Rossi mixed with Will Farrell. No offense Bob… I’m just keeping it real.

Perhaps, we all might become inspired.

Money Money Money Money…

Daily writing prompt
List three jobs you’d consider pursuing if money didn’t matter.

I’m gonna be incredibly real here, folks! Money makes the world go round, so as far as listing jobs to I’d do for free…. there ain’t one!

Now, don’t get me wrong… pretty much every single thing I do each day is done for free and with no monetary compensation.

Seriously, dishes laundry cooking cleaning writing exercising, etc. In my younger years, I birthed, raised, and educated three children… without being paid one red penny!

When I divorced my first husband, I went to work. I paid child support for three children, was disowned my family, kicked out of my church, and ostracized by every friend I had, save one!

My ex-husband got the cars, the house, the kids, and all the sympathy and money gifts everyone could offer the poor sod… so sad for him… waaahhhh!

So, you’ll have to forgive my caustic answer to what job I would do if money didn’t matter. If we’re being fully honest… no one does anything for free anymore, not if you look closely…

Just sayin…

Here’s a cookie to help you swallow my truths…

What could you do more of?

The ship’s doctor prescribed rest and comfort foods for my sniffles.

So, in between snacking and binge watching re-runs of my favorite cooking shows, little cat naps here and there have been the order of the day!

I did pull some cookies out of the freezer for you, though…
