What gives you direction in life?

Once upon a time, long long ago, we navigated with pencil drawings of whomever had traveled on the road we were on. It’s all we had to go on for directions…

Thank goodness we don’t have to rely on the old way of getting information, right?! Advanced technology now allows us to navigate, via global satellite telemetry, on our handy dandy cell phones… or even our car’s onboard navigation system.

Consider our personal journeys in life like navigating a map, of sorts. We start at point A (birth) and are given a map of life with a bunch of confusing scribbles on it. It seems like we’re trying to follow a map we can hardly read, in the hope that our directions will get us to our destination, safely and successfully.

When you choose what you consider to be your destination, then you’re able to choose your directions. You can decide to attempt travel, only using those maps that time can destroy…

With all of life’s busy traffic out there, one must find purpose to fuel their journey through, toward their intended destination.

Everyone wants to find purpose for their life, a reason for their existence! How else do we intend navigating through all the hustle and bustle of the world around us?

We seek love for acceptance, knowledge for better understanding, and a purpose for getting to the end of each’s lifetime. No amount of love and understanding will enable us to keep going, without having a purpose for getting to wherever we are attempting to go. In a world that is as big as ours is, there are many different directions one can go, so having a purpose will aid in directing ones path.

Some are led toward science, education, and higher learning… while others find their purpose in the arts. There’s music, poetry, children, animal and/or environmental conservation, and so many others that one finds it difficult to list them all.

For this reason, I’ll answer this prompt question with a single word… PURPOSE! It is a globally shared word, leaving us all to determine what our own purpose might be.

What’s my purpose, you may be asking yourselves? My purpose is to strive for living a Christ Centered Life, following that very narrow path that is leading me home, to that which is being prepared for me, even as I write this! My purpose is to live, speak, and write about what God has done for me, as well as, what He can do for any who choose to follow Him!
