A bit of this, and a bit of that…

Daily writing prompt
What do you wish you could do more every day?

I suppose that writing might be my first go-to answer for this prompt, but there is such a thing as, too much of a good thing spoils the whole dessert.

Certainly, more time with Maisie, my new granddaughter, would be top of my list. Two things about that. One, she’ll be here three to four days a week come May, when my daughter goes back to work. And, two… I’m getting old and my poor back can only take so much. Thankfully, Papa is here to share the load. We tag-team boppin her about. He is so in love with her, it’s adorable to watch. We are so blessed!

I could always spend more time in scripture, which I do whenever I find quiet moments… that’s just a given.

Most assuredly, I wish I could eat more every day, but that is in the works, so patience is a virtue.

Hiking on the low mountain trails, here in the beautiful Northwest. Now that’s a worthy dream. There are endless rivers, streams, trails, parks, lakes, and every manner of outdoor activities and sports events.

Exploring more museums and historical sites throughout Washington, and Alaska. There are so many differing places to explore right here in our own backyard. No need to take a bus, a boat, a train, or even a plane. A car will do just fine.

I will admit that these days, if I’m to go exploring anywhere, there better be a hotel with a hot tub at the end of the hike… just sayin!

Hey, now that’s what I think I’ll settle on for my final answer… a spa treatment day, oh yeah! To be pampered, fussed, and fawned over would be simply divine.

However, at the end of each day, I am content with who I am, the things we have, and the life we’ve built together, my husband and I. If you feel led to do a thing, do it. If you are drawn to speak a thing of goodness and truth, speak it. If you want to be successful and you see a chance, take it. If you want a good and beautiful life, make it!

Cookie?

I’m always willing to bake more virtual cookies for anyone asking…

Daily writing prompt
What do you wish you could do more every day?

Seriously, if I could spend all of my waking hours simply writing and telling stories for others… I would do it in a heartbeat!

I think that I was born to write, regardless of whether it ever goes anywhere, career wise. For me, the value isn’t in the paper that the book might be printed on. When I live by God’s daily provision, I don’t feel the pressure to make it big in the dollar department. My desire is to collect hearts and minds for my Creator, over the accumulation of worldly goods. Now that I’ve given you that goofy disclaimer about my motives, I’m hoping you’re following my line of thinking when I use writing as my answer to the prompt.

Every day, I do an immense amount of several things, talking being one of the biggest. I pray/talk to God, sing, and wear my poor husbands ears out with all my chatty antics. I read all the time, and yes, I write… a lot! But what I don’t get to do nearly enough is give all those writings a voice… you know, read them out loud to kids. Is it selfish to wish for laughter, smiles and happy hearts when I read my stories to little ones… maybe it is. But when the result is love for all involved, how can that be so bad.

Since God hasn’t told me otherwise, Imma just keep writing and weaving dreams, like I’ve been doing. Bur if I get a chance to do it more than I’m already doing, I won’t be wasting any chances to do it… just sayin!

Take an extra cookie today,

I made more than I normally do.

What do you wish you could do more every day?

Yes, I’m in my pajamas while chasing down monsters in a fictitious forest! I take one day at a time, living the life set before me with a steady pace. Whatever God sets before me to do… I do it!

Right now, that means playing video games with my husband in our pajamas folks!

I don’t make wishes anymore, but I DO have a hope and a future…

Here, have a cookie with me… I made em yesterday…
