Wednesday Words…

Eustace is downstairs, working out in the motel’s gym. He’s attempting to encourage me to come try it out. Well, if the camel can do it… then, I can too!

I shall courageously go forth into treadmill land vs. trail walks.

When in Rome…

Unforgettable Goals…

After going back and reading my response from last year, the only thing that I would add to my answer this year is this:

I did indeed finish that second book… you know, the fantasy/fiction story that I went on and on about. From that story was born another, so I now have a new personal goal marked on my mental chalk board… Volume II!

Oh yeah, don’t forget your cookie…

Cookies…

I wrote a little ditty that I thought was quite witty

But once I read my writing, it appeared to be less than exciting…

So I decided just to move on and come up with a whole different song

It’s about how I get you to lookie, by always offering each of you a cookie…

I start by speaking my mind

About answers the prompt seeks to find

It’s only right you should know how I feel

This girl just likes keepin things real…

If my words make you feel whiney

or if a bruise appears on your hiney

Just remember everyone writes with their own letters

And,

Take your cookie so you’ll start feeling better!

Daily writing prompt
Who are your favorite artists?

The beautiful thing about artists… they come in all shapes, forms and sizes.

Depending on the person who is viewing all the differing genre’s to pick from, there are a myriad of possible answers… possible artists!

I, myself, have a mishmosh of different artists that I consider my favorites.

Though I can appreciate the beauty in paintings and sculptures, they’ve never really drawn me toward those genre’s, as far as picking someone with a particularly good skill! That’s not to say that I don’t think there are some amazing painters and sculptors, I just wouldn’t know the first thing about picking one out above the others.

I would surmise that in terms of picking out favorite anything’s, most people go with what they know. What I know about myself is that I love reading, writing, music and nature… so we will run with that for today’s prompt answer.

In movies, I love Jennifer Garner, Henry Cavell, Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Vigo Mortenson, Julie Andrews… oh, and the list goes on and on, my friends!

In the category of reading, I love C.S. Lewis, Brian Jacques, Rita Mae Brown, Iris Johansen, Tolkien, Rawlings, Judy Bloom… ya, there’s just too many to call up, at the moment.

Now, in terms of writing, there’s Willow, David, Mangus, I.V. Greco, Fibrecraft Grannie, Lou, Cate, Juanita, Banana Cat, Fandango, Willie, Edward, Ophelia, Kevin, and so many others that I don’t have the time to sing their praises… partly, because I don’t know everyone’s actual name.

As far as music goes, if you think you’re going to get an answer for this category, you shall be sadly disappointed! There is simply far to much talent out there for me to limit my favorites to less than probably 40 or 50 artists… and that list changes with each passing year. Some artists will be getting sweeter with time and age, while new talent will be rising up through the masses.

Just sayin…

Here, have a cookie…

These are some of my favorites!

Monday Messages…

Well, things took an interesting turn this morning, even before we’d gotten out of bed.

You know those things that sit on the bedside table in your hotel rooms? Those boxes with buttons and lights on them, and a weird microphone thingie with a cord attached? Well, I was awakened by a loud buzzing coming out of the box and the little red light was flashing. I picked up the microphone thingie, only to hear the sound of a woman speaking out of it.

Politely, she informed me that we needed to please move into another room… in another building… on the other side of the facility… before noon! While we don’t have much, we do have things that have to be repacked and moved back out to the car, and then back up another flight of stairs to the other room. The zinger, for us was, my husband needed to leave for classes within the next hour… so noon was just a fantasy.

I had all these delusions of grandeur about starting back to producing some good content for everyone, but that was a pipe dream. Oh well! There’s always tomorrow…

…Tomorrow, tomorrow… it’s only a day away…

Wait, what were we talking about?

Oh yeah, moving to another room. Oddly enough, there were some nice trade offs, in terms of having to move… again!

While I’ve lost the ottoman with wheels that slides across the floor, and the nice lap tray that comes with it, this room comes with a toaster. I’d bought all the supplies to make egg McMuffins when our adventure first began, only to find that our room didn’t come with a toaster. When I discovered one in the new room, it felt like we’d just one the lottery… well, more like a really nice door prize!

Speaking of winning the lottery, I bet my two house plants feel like they’ve certainly scored big time! Each one gets her own window to soak up the morning light. They must feel like they were born in a cave, but have now been delivered to the promise land.

Also, the laundry room and gym are now right next door, so it’s much more doable for me to carry laundry there, compared to back and forth across the entire parking lot.

To be honest, aside from disrupting my morning slightly, it was such a small inconvenience when one looks at the grand scheme of things. This was nothin! I got a brisk workout, and got a whole new clean motel room… lol!

The fact that other people keep cleaning for me, as well as laundering all our towels and bedding and taking out our garbage… is giving this girl a princess complex!

Is that a bad thing? Really… is it?

When, Now?

What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

What I find rather hilarious about answering this prompt is all my answers seem to be running in reverse, as far as my age and maturity are concerned.

Back in the day, when everyone my age was playing computer games, I was crocheting, cooking and camping. Then when I got older, and slower, I switched it over to doing the things I should have been doing when I was a kid!

While my arthritis and fibro prevent me from doing any of my usual hobbies, as well as, we are a bit homeless just now… my writing and gaming fingers are still on point!

I wrote something a while back, regarding myself, my husband, and my brother-in-law’s gaming techniques.

If you haven’t read that story yet, or if you want another good laugh, you should click the link.

Either way, don’t forget to grab a fresh cookie on your way out…

Live Wire…

Ladies and Gents,

Welcome aboard Wind In Her Sails Wave Rider, our sea going vessel for today!

Please feel free to move about the deck, as our Captain is quite skilled at keeping us upright and speeding forth. You will find that since our vessel is quite sturdy, all you need concern yourself with is the beautiful view.

There’s such sweet peace in the knowledge that the vessel I sail upon is simply unsinkable! Regardless of weather, danger, obstacles, or even my inability to run the ship by myself, once I signed on with this Captain… He never let go!

All I see right now is clear blue skies and a bright morning sun… hey, there’s other people out there!

Hmmm… I suppose they may have been there all along, but I simply didn’t see them… until now. Who knew?

There is something to be said about the difference of things, depending on how you’re viewing them.

Perspective is everything when you’re flying blind. I’m learning how important it is for me to look through my telescope’s lens properly, and without squinting. No wonder Captain Jack Sparrow always leaned back and looked at everything with a crazy face… or maybe it was just the rum.

Anyway, for anyone not suffering from motion sickness during our voyage today, there are snacks up in the crows nest…

Voyage Through the Unseen…

Traveling through mist and shadow

Light from her lantern never dims

She crosses the surface of dark waters

Where the monsters often swim…

No need for her to fear

That which is beyond her sight

She boldly ventures toward the unseen

Riding the waves into the night!

What would you do if you lost all your possessions?

Well, I suppose that we would take whatever cash we had in our pocket and buy an old RV. Then we would travel across the entire U.S. in said RV. Then we would live in said RV for four years, before it became broken beyond our ability to repair it. When that happened, I guess we would have to become homeless and live in a motel, until such time that we could afford to live anywhere else.

Ya, I think that about sums up what I would do if I lost all my possessions.

Among the World…

Daily writing prompt
Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

Without meaning to offend anyone, I’m simply being honest and forthright to the daily prompt question… the world has never wanted, nor accepted me as I am, and I spent far too many years trying to fit into the mold offered.

Why do you think I always talk about being in the desert, running away from the cities of men, as I often refer to them?

This isn’t to say that I don’t love people… I do, very much! That’s part of the problem… I’m just too much for most to deal with, truthfully.

Now that I travel safely tucked beneath the folds of Gods love and covering, I enter cities when needed. I no longer get lost or trampled anymore, as I once did. That being said, I still prefer the deserts, the shadows, the alleyways… where there is need!

You must understand that this attitude comes from being in the wilds for so much of my existence, and I fully accept that my opinion may be somewhat jaded.

It’s too bad that I couldn’t take all of what I currently know and have learned, and start out again at the age of about twenty-five. It’s as if the first fifty years of my existence was simply one nightmare after another and from where I sit now, I’ve nothing good to show for it!

No worries though, because I plan on finishing well!

We shall see… we shall see…
