If I could spend the day soaking in a vat of iced coffee, that would suit me just fine!

Here’s a novel idea, WordPress… how about we come up with some new prompt questions.
Right now, that would make me very excited for the future… of prompt questions, that is!
Did you guys know, when I contacted WordPress last year about the repeat prompts, they told me that no one manages that department anymore… its just an empty rolodex of the same set of questions from three years ago.
As far as I’m aware, they’ve no intention of renewing the prompts.
I suppose if we keep re-answering the questions, instead of lodging formal complaints about the issue, this groundhog day experience will become like that of the character, Barney, and just go on and on, my friends!
Just sayin…
Here, have a cookie! And I promise that it won’t be one from last year…

Ok… I’m already hot, today, and it’s not even eight in the morning!
This heat wave is making me feel like a prisoner, but at least we have a portable air conditioner, so I’ve been sort of hugging it for the last few days.
If I should melt before I wake tomorrow, someone please come soak me up with a sponge and put me in the freezer.
I shudder to remember that I once spent hours a day, sun bathing and playing in the great outdoors, from the moment that summer arrived. Now, all I can think to do, is crawl under something shady and pray for a cool breeze!
Hopefully, everyone can stay cool and hydrated, until the temps drop back down to a more reasonable level.
Have a great Monday, my friends…

Dangled before my eyes, like a carrot before the horse, the world offers wealth, pleasure, power and endless freedoms.
Sitting in my RV, surveying all that is around me, I am left wanting!
In order to keep my sanity, peace and harmony, severing ties with the very thing that causes so much pain and heartache, seems a small price to pay!
I shall store up my treasures in heaven, where there is eternal value, for I shall not be taking anything of this world with me when I go!
Here, have a cookie…

For nearly a week now, I’ve been studying 1st and 2nd Kings, reading through battle after battle of the Israelites, mostly between themselves.
Truthfully, I’ve merely skimmed through these sections of scripture in the past, mainly because our human propensity for selfishness and sin, literally drip from those pages. It’s never any fun to read of our own ignorance as human beings, over and over and over again!
But, in essence, that’s exactly what we do now, in modern society. We’ve still not learned! It’s 2024 in this moment, but if we look at what goes on in our government, what goes on in the churches, and what is playing out before our eyes in our streets.
Lying, stealing, backbiting, slander, adultery, poverty, murder, etc. etc. etc.
While this might be disturbing to my spirit, it isn’t surprising! The bible maps out exactly what happened in our past, what we face in today’s society, and what is to come.
That being said, it still doesn’t make it very pleasurable to read when I’m trying to keep a good attitude about much of the garbage I deal with on a day to day basis.
What it does do for me though, is offer insight into the heart of man. From then to now, when we turn from God and walk our own way, we are doomed by our very own ignorance!
When we start thinking we have figured things out and don’t need God, we are on a path set for self-destruction!
While parts of scripture may cause me to cringe, squirm, or even possibly feel defensive, I’m still going to read it! It seems to be a pretty consistent track record of three revolving scenarios:
Forget about God and go your own way…
Reap the consequences…
Run back to God when you can’t fix your own screw-ups!
I understand that simply reading the bible over and over again doesn’t seem like it will change anything, but what if it can?
There has to be a reason for God to have put all that history in the bible, and in my humanness I may not fully grasp the whys of it all. What I do know is that I’m going to keep reading scripture, just in case.
In 2 Timothy 3: 16, 17 it says,
“All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
I may not like everything that I read in God’s word, but it was put there for me to read, none the less… All of it!
For me, the bible is my history, all of our history, really! I’m not here to argue beliefs, opinions or facts about our past, but simply speak the truth of my heart.
Some study the bible, as I do, while others may study history books. In the end, it won’t matter what book you read, in order to see into our past. If we can’t seem to learn how to be decent human beings, why bother reading about our history, at all?!

I love so many different genres of music, it doesn’t seem fair to pick only one.
There’s the music my mom listened to when I was small.
There’s the colorful Jams of the 80’s from my high school days.
Then, there are all the children’s nursery rhymes and sing along songs, from when my girls were little.
Now we can add all of the music I listen to these days, which can range from Contemporary Christian Worship to hip hop, and nearly everything in between!
As long as there isn’t foul language or questionable lyrics, this girl loves her tunes!
I simply find it beautiful that music has a magical way of impacting ones emotional and physical state.
Just sayin…
Here, have a cookie…

Fun Fact… Did you know, if you have a handful of peanuts, the squirrels will come all the way inside your RV?
I do now!

My neck and back are stiff from all the firework rubbernecking I did, and I need at least a day to recover from all the food I ate last night, so all I got for you today is a cup of coffee.

Don’t you dare ask me to even look at a cookie, right now! Yikes!

Yes, I ate too much!
Yes, it will take several days to sleep it off!
Yes, the fireworks were amazing!
And…. YES, It’s Friday!
P.S. Have you ever eaten so much that you were still full when you woke up the next day? Just asking…

On any given day, I suppose I could attempt to be an authority in a number of differing subjects!
Today, however, you’re in luck! As this is a day of celebrating our nations independence, I so happen to be planning to become an authority on what we’ll be eating this afternoon…
Food glorious food, as Templeton from Charlotte’s web sings it the best!
Here, I’ll share more than just plain ole cookies…

Happy Independence Day!
