Barnyard Business…

If any of you were wondering why I had pictures taken of all the babes, we’ve decided to try some schooling this fall. For the most part, the babes don’t really need general schooling, as most of their skills are by natural instinct.

However, they’ve insisted on doing what regular children do during the school season. The reason for their new found interest in learning, comes from the big yellow buses that have been practicing their routes for the upcoming school year.

When I explained what the buses were doing, out came the questions about what school was, and why we didn’t have our own bus, or a school for learning.

So, long story short, I shall attempt to offer a school year experience for the babes here in the barn, minus the school bus. Not only can I NOT drive a bus, but we’ve not nearly the peanuts it would take to buy fuel for said bus!

The plans for school have been laid, and the babes are climbing the rafters, in excitement for things to come. The first thing I wanted to do was take some new school pictures of each babe, which you all voted on, earlier this week. Thank you, by the way, for all the response… it really helped me out!

I will put the chosen pictures at the end of the post, for anyone wishing to check them out.

I did actually homeschool my three children for about 5 years, when they were small, so I think I can pull off a fun year of some class like learning that the babes should enjoy. We can do some basic shapes, letters and numbers, followed by some art and music.

Even if the babes cannot fully master writing with a pencil or pen, I feel confident that they can learn to recognize those things… and they can paint with their hands, if they don’t like using the crayons.

We all know that play dough is non-toxic, so even if they eat it, they should be just fine.

I’m actually very excited about doing this for the little ones, and Brutus even said that he, too, would teach them some things. I think it’s going to be a wonderful experience for them, as well as for myself!

Starting today, I’ve filled the barn with school supplies, like paper, rulers, children’s scissors, non-toxic paint, and things such as that. I also bought each babe their own backpack, to fill with one of each item they find interesting. This way, I can learn what each student wants to learn about the most. It should help me to tailor our classroom lessons to fit each babe’s needs.

Wish us luck!

Again, thanks for your feedback on these photos!

Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes…

Daily writing prompt
What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

I don’t know about anyone else, but today’s prompt made my blog sound more like a dressing room, than a part of the WordPress community. Let’s face it, folks! Unless your site has the Disney level membership, I’m not terribly confident that our personal blogs will ever truly, CHANGE the world!

If I can’t be of use in changing the world, just as I am… a blog won’t make any difference!

Rather than making up some ridiculous answer to the prompt, I focused on one particular word, which seemed to jump out at me…

Changes!

I found an updated version of that old David Bowie song, about changing the world, even if one is different.

Enjoy…

I don’t know why, but it just seemed to fit into today’s prompt, in a round about way!

Dreams and Visions…

Daily writing prompt
Describe your life in an alternate universe.

When I saw the prompt question this morning, I nearly bowed out, as I don’t usually imagine myself in a universe other than the one I’m in.

But, in all fairness to the prompt, one can consider both dreams and visions to be universes, in themselves.

I have dreams of places that are fiction, which can be considered a separate universe! Those are the places that I write about, nearly every day! Some might be shared on my posts, here on WordPress. However, the book I’m attempting to publish, writes of a place that one might consider a universe.

Then, there are visions! Wooooo…. big scary word!

Before you start thinking I’ve gone round the bend, let me explain. Whenever I am reading scripture, I see visions within my mind that God reveals, allowing me to form a picture of what things were like long ago, or of things to come, when this world passes away. See, nothing scary, here.

While this might not make any sense to anyone but myself, at least I tried to answer the prompt question, so there’s that…

Wednesday Words…

Eustace made a special drink that should get us through the day. He calls it,

The Hump Day Hairy Margarita!

You’re welcome!

More Cheese, Please…

Daily writing prompt
What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?

The only thing that comes to the top of my mind, would be a birthday dinner from years past.

I was treated to dinner at a restaurant called The Melting Pot, where the entire dinner was served in a private booth, Fondue style!

Though I wasn’t the one paying for said birthday dinner, I did see several $1oo bills being forked over, afterwards.

While I will say that the entire dinner was well worth it, dollar for dollar, I wouldn’t personally want to spend that kind of money for a meal.

So, basically, it was worth the money as long as it wasn’t me spending it!

Just sayin…

It’s Picture Day!

I brought in a special AI photographer (wink wink), and am having all the babes get new pictures, for this fall.

I need some help though, in choosing the best shot for each babe. So, I’ve selected the two best pictures of each babe, and I’d hoped that you all might help me pick the best ones. Here goes…

Raindrops on Roses…

Daily writing prompt
List 30 things that make you happy.

Nobody does this prompt question justice, like Julie Andrews can! Literally, I thin that every single verse hits home on my list of happy. Think about it…

Raindrops on roses… soft and delicate

Whiskers on kittens… they tickle

Bright copper kettle’s… tea, coffee or cocoa… mmmmm

Warm woolen mittens… playing in snow

Brown paper packages, tied up with string… presents! Who doesn’t love presents!?!

Cream colored ponies… ponies!!!

Crisp apple strudels… to go with my coffee

Doorbells… loved ones

Sleigh bells… Santa!

Schnitzel with noodles… ok, I’ve never actually eaten this, but I’m sure it tastes good.

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings… breathtaking!

Girls in white dresses, with blue satin sashes… so pure and innocent.

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes… try to catch them in your mouth, too!

Silver white winters that melt into spring… all those new buds, birds chirping, and the smell of fresh spring air… aaahhhhhhh, pure bliss!

As you can see, the list only came to 14… 15, if you want to count schnitzel and noodles as 2. If Julie can make us feel happy without needing to come up with 30 different things, I shall follow her example.

  1. Two babies laughing at one another
  2. Puppy breath
  3. When my husband takes my hand, as we walk
  4. Music
  5. Reading
  6. A phone call
  7. A visitor
  8. Clean sheets on a neatly made bed
  9. Wiggling my toes in the sand
  10. Memories
  11. Dreams
  12. A smile
  13. A hug
  14. Forgiveness
  15. Heaven is waiting…

Here, have a cookie…

This one makes 30 if you didn’t count the noodles
