Dreams and Visions…

Daily writing prompt
Describe your life in an alternate universe.

When I saw the prompt question this morning, I nearly bowed out, as I don’t usually imagine myself in a universe other than the one I’m in.

But, in all fairness to the prompt, one can consider both dreams and visions to be universes, in themselves.

I have dreams of places that are fiction, which can be considered a separate universe! Those are the places that I write about, nearly every day! Some might be shared on my posts, here on WordPress. However, the book I’m attempting to publish, writes of a place that one might consider a universe.

Then, there are visions! Wooooo…. big scary word!

Before you start thinking I’ve gone round the bend, let me explain. Whenever I am reading scripture, I see visions within my mind that God reveals, allowing me to form a picture of what things were like long ago, or of things to come, when this world passes away. See, nothing scary, here.

While this might not make any sense to anyone but myself, at least I tried to answer the prompt question, so there’s that…

Wednesday Words…

Eustace made a special drink that should get us through the day. He calls it,

The Hump Day Hairy Margarita!

You’re welcome!

Daily writing prompt
What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?

The only thing that comes to the top of my mind, would be a birthday dinner from years past.

I was treated to dinner at a restaurant called The Melting Pot, where the entire dinner was served in a private booth, Fondue style!

Though I wasn’t the one paying for said birthday dinner, I did see several $1oo bills being forked over, afterwards.

While I will say that the entire dinner was well worth it, dollar for dollar, I wouldn’t personally want to spend that kind of money for a meal.

So, basically, it was worth the money as long as it wasn’t me spending it!

Just sayin…

It’s Picture Day!

I brought in a special AI photographer (wink wink), and am having all the babes get new pictures, for this fall.

I need some help though, in choosing the best shot for each babe. So, I’ve selected the two best pictures of each babe, and I’d hoped that you all might help me pick the best ones. Here goes…

Miss Tilly: A.

Or B.

Miss Lilly: A.

Or B.

Miss Dinky: A.

Boomer: A.

Squagon: A.

I really would love your feedback, thanks!

Different Year, Same Answer…

This was last years response to the daily prompt, but the answer is still the same…

As per last years title,

“Are You Kidding?”

Daily writing prompt
Scour the news for an entirely uninteresting story. Consider how it connects to your life. Write about that.

You do realize how much “Garbage” I would have to sift through, to even find an uninteresting story… need I remind you that media is behaving more like it is best to get it out there first, rather than correct. That being said, I am now finding myself in a dillemma, as I do NOT read the news, or watch most tv and movies.

Some times, I stay off of these things because of anxiety. I find, for myself, that being stimulated by everybody else’s anger, violence, drama, cruelty, and superficial behavior, stresses me the heck out!

I do not have to read or watch the news, in order to get my information, because my husband and friends all do, and then they talk about it. I can see the tension on their faces and hear the agitation in their voices, as they try to replay the story. They read about it, and see it on the boob tube, but are unable to do anything to make a difference. I guess that’s how news connects to my life, never mind trying to find an uninteresting story.

And the thought that the media would ever deign to produce a story that has no interest… why would they do that? The world has been groomed to crave adrenaline, seek out action, and wallow in violence in order to happily exist.

Besides that, I am a child of the streets… a casualty of war, you might say…

I have seen things, and gone through moments that shaped me into a very hard person on the surface, while still quite fragile beneath all my armor.

While I cannot scour the news, as the prompt suggested, I can scour the very environment around me for my uninteresting story. One does not have to go far beyond their own front doors, in these times, to see stories unfold right before their eyes… whether it connects to them, is a whole different topic that we don’t have time for today.

So, I will treat you to a brief uninteresting story that I saw unfold, and it really did connect to my life…

I was walking in the park the other day, happily feeding my local squirrel kingdom. As I walked the path, I noticed a woman walking the same path, but moving in my direction. I discovered that she was also dropping peanuts for the local wildlife, just as I’d been doing. It encouraged me to see someone else doing a very simple deed, with no one there to pat them on the back. She derives the same pleasure as I do, maybe, from giving food to others.

I may not have much, but a small morsel can go a long way for a tiny creature…

Give where you can, when you can, with what you can… even if it is a peanut. Sometimes big things come from small beginnings.

I hope this was enough of an answer for you, WordPress. It wasn’t the easiest question to work with, but I did what I could. For everyone who stayed long enough to read this in its entirety, breakfast is on me…

The watermelon is totally in season, so it is super sweet…

Raindrops on Roses…

Daily writing prompt
List 30 things that make you happy.

Nobody does this prompt question justice, like Julie Andrews can! Literally, I thin that every single verse hits home on my list of happy. Think about it…

Raindrops on roses… soft and delicate

Whiskers on kittens… they tickle

Bright copper kettle’s… tea, coffee or cocoa… mmmmm

Warm woolen mittens… playing in snow

Brown paper packages, tied up with string… presents! Who doesn’t love presents!?!

Cream colored ponies… ponies!!!

Crisp apple strudels… to go with my coffee

Doorbells… loved ones

Sleigh bells… Santa!

Schnitzel with noodles… ok, I’ve never actually eaten this, but I’m sure it tastes good.

Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings… breathtaking!

Girls in white dresses, with blue satin sashes… so pure and innocent.

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes… try to catch them in your mouth, too!

Silver white winters that melt into spring… all those new buds, birds chirping, and the smell of fresh spring air… aaahhhhhhh, pure bliss!

As you can see, the list only came to 14… 15, if you want to count schnitzel and noodles as 2. If Julie can make us feel happy without needing to come up with 30 different things, I shall follow her example.

  1. Two babies laughing at one another
  2. Puppy breath
  3. When my husband takes my hand, as we walk
  4. Music
  5. Reading
  6. A phone call
  7. A visitor
  8. Clean sheets on a neatly made bed
  9. Wiggling my toes in the sand
  10. Memories
  11. Dreams
  12. A smile
  13. A hug
  14. Forgiveness
  15. Heaven is waiting…

Here, have a cookie…

This one makes 30 if you didn’t count the noodles

Live Wire…

Some days, there are more reasons for staying in bed, than there are for getting up!

I’ve decided that today is one of those days!

I must have spent too much time in the heat yesterday, and I’m feeling it this morning! Attempting to walk two doors down, just to use the restroom, made me feel old and feeble. I had difficulty convincing my left hip that it was needed, if I were to successfully climb the steps back up into the RV.

Aging is not for the faint of heart!

Were I to allow fear to overtake my senses, I would be paralyzed by loneliness, frustration, and self-pity. For the most part, I successfully walk by faith, accepting my suffering for Christ sake.

On days like today, when my walk is a bit too painful for me to handle without whining like a child, I opt for climbing back under the covers to wait for a better day. God watches over me there, just as much as he does when I get up and move about. Jesus sits with me, while I read the word, ministering to my weary spirit.

The bible says that we will suffer for our faith, but it also says that we do not walk alone. He will never leave, nor forsake us! So what if today is a sucky one! I don’t have to beat myself up, when I’m not able to run full throttle, as I once did. I’m confident that God matches my speed, however fast or slow it is!

Maybe God is trying to show me the places in my life that I’m still trying to carry too much? Most likely, I’ve been overthinking too much, regarding things that only God can handle. It is so easy to do, when things don’t go as planned in our lives.

Whatever the reason, God said I could stay in bed today, so I plan on it! It’ll give me a chance to visit all your sites and ready the posts that I missed this week, while I watch nature shows about the Congo.

Some days it is best to just turn the brain off, plug it in to a charging port of your choice, and do a hard reset!

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Get some rest today, folks, and spend time with those you love…

Listening to God…

Daily writing prompt
Describe one habit that brings you joy.

Listening for God’s voice on a regular basis, is my habit of choice!

It offers me so much joy, because He reminds me of his promises.

Though it be only a whisper, I can hear His words clear and true…

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. ‘” — Jeremiah 29:11

I believe!

Saturday Funny…

Today, I asked my AI generator to give me a picture of,

“A woman in a pirate’s hat, sitting in a dunk tank at a picnic.”

This is what I got!

I love the guy wearing a Daisy Duke tank top! I think he’s my favorite part of the pic!
