For the life of me, I want to say that the prompt should be asking, Where is your favorite place to go in your city. Or better yet, if they want to ask what is your favorite place to go, wouldn’t it make more sense to ask What is the name of your favorite place to go in your city.
Do they want an address? They aren’t asking for a name, just your favorite place. Does it exclude places that can be found everywhere, i.e. McDonalds, Walmart, or The Rack?
Maybe this is one of those person, place, or things, kind of confusions… who knows? Or perhaps, I’m just too tired to care much about what the prompt was asking me about.
In the end, it won’t matter any way you look at it, as I am a country girl at heart, so I avoid the city like a visit to the proctologist!
I had such lofty thoughts and snappy come-backs for this mornings postings… until 2 a.m. rolled around, and what felt like every stupid childhood adventure injury began to ache, waking me from my dreamy slumber.
I’ve been up ever since…
While I may be all bleary eyed and a bit loopy, in the end it was worth it!
Wanna know why? I wish to pretend that you did, indeed, just ask me that question, so I can keep talking… or typing, if we’re to be literal about it.
Anyway, I’m glad I wasn’t able to go back to sleep, because it gave me a chance to spend time with my husband, even if it was just watching dumb things on the television. Lately, he’s either been asleep when I’m awake, or over at the college in one of the computer labs. He does his study work in the middle of the night, while I sleep.
The man burns his candles at both ends these days, what with trying to gain a degree, while simultaneously attempting to handle the overwhelming number of things that go with being homeless with a wife who can’t work… no fun.
Yet, he gets up and does what needs doing each and every morning, without a word of judgement, or complaint. He has always been a quiet man, stoic and reserved… to some he might even be seen as hardened. Behind the wall, however, is a treasure trove of love, tenderness and such generosity of heart! Once you know it’s there, you cannot help but to adore the man. Don’t get me wrong, he can most certainly drive me to distraction… but for the love of Pete (whoever that is), I simply can’t stay mad at him!
I know this post has little to do with anything of value, but what could any of us expect? I feel rather accomplished to have even gotten this far, to be honest. I will end this mushy, sappy, sleepy mumblefest that I got going on here, by saying that I am very grateful for the gift of my husband’s love.
I haven’t even looked at the daily prompt yet, so be wary, my friends… lol!
As Forrest Gump says (sorta), Today’s prompt answer will be like a box of chocolates, who knows what you’re gonna get!
While I’m not certain as to the significance of where I might find said hair, I would most assuredly want it placed upon my head before any other part of my body.
I suppose if I traveled across the sea, as my ship allows me to do whenever I wish it, I might find flowing hair such as Fabio,
Or better yet, silky and soft like Angelina Jolie,
or even full and glossy like Catherine Zeta Jones,
But, whichever hair I end up selecting, I most definitely want it on my head… ya, for sure there…
wait, what?
Oops… forgive my mistake… I thought it said “If you could have hair anywhere, where in the world would you want it?”
It was an honest mistake, I can assure you (I am so lying about that… I absolutely did it on purpose)!
Listen, everybody, don’t blame me for answering todays prompt, as I plan to. They need to learn to be more specific… writer… Duh!
With such a wide open question. I could run with it in several directions. The only parameters are that it has to be found IN a school, whether it be in the classroom, lunchroom, or on the soccer field. One has to then figure out if the question is referring to pre-school, elementary, middle school, high school, college or trade school, and don’t forget Sunday School.
Going further, let’s consider what falls under the term, Subject:
Google says “a person or thing that is being discussed, described, or dealt with.” While we can add the word School at the end, it still only narrows the field, somewhat.
If I’m to interpret the prompt’s query correctly,
What was my favorite person or thing being discussed, described, or dealt with… in any form of academia?
This girl is an avid reader, and have a deep love of learning. I was always an exceptional student in most academic subjects, aside from math and science, which I abhorred. School was always the place I wanted to be, far more than whatever foster home I was placed in at the time.
As an adult I enjoyed Modeling School, Bible Seminary, and several other Trade’s programs. I eventually went to community college and attained an AA Degree.
Under the new guidelines for answering the prompt, throughout any of the high school days, I would have to admit that Boys were my favorite subject…. shush, don’t judge!
Everything else is history…
No, really, my favorite subject actually turned out to be History.
I think Eustace is trying to drum up extra business, what with the holidays right around the corner. He decided to offer a coupon day, where you can bring a friend to therapy, for no extra cost.
It’s like a buy one get one free, kind of idea.
**a few words of advice… you may want to take the time to choose a problem that you’re both wrestling with, just in case Eustace is taking the whole buy one get one thing, literally.
No I don’t! Ha ha, had you there for a moment, didn’t I?
Really, I wish I did have people to help me with all my stuff… there’s too much, and nowhere for it to go.
Bottom line is… money! Doesn’t it always?!
There just isn’t any easy way for an unseen no one, such as myself, to sweet talk a stranger into seeing what I see… let alone back me, in my literary endeavors.
Oddly, God just keeps whispering, Just keep writing it. Nothing is impossible for ME!”
So, while I may not have the best skills at managing my own time, I fully trust and believe that my heavenly father is giving me a hope and a future… I’ll bet my soul on it! I can take the risk, as I’ve a Jesus card to trump all the others!
Just sayin…
Here, have a cookie…
They’re never too hard to swallow, and that takes a lot of work, my friends.
I basically copied and pasted last years Monday Message in here, this morning. Why? Because nobody participated last time… and it was a really good idea, that’s why!
I’m serious, guys and gals… come on, pretty please…for me? I think this could be really fun, and let’s face it, I think we all need something bright to focus on right now. Wouldn’t you agree?
So, here goes… when at first you don’t succeed, try try again (or so I’ve heard):
Well… November is well upon us, and I am setting the stage for our upcoming events. I mentioned before that I wanted to do a Virtual Holiday and I am bringing it up again. I am giving everyone until Thanksgiving to come up with a Christmas Wish List for themselves and put it in the comments anywhere on my site, that is, if you wish to participate.
Anyone wishing to participate can simply use their Christmas Day Post to reveal what they got peeps from those lists… your post is yours so you can present your gifts anyway you wish. It is virtual so the sky is the limit! I thought it would be so beautiful to have the Reader covered with gifts and sharing all across WordPress. Be there or Be SQUARE!
This should be so easy for us to organize and promote, OA’s (Overthinkers Anonymous members… you know who you are)!
Seeings as how we’re frequently up at all hours of the night, I feel confident that we could really make a go of this, don’t you? Come on guys, how about just this once, we agree about a thing, without taking all night to do it, please?
I know I don’t ask for things often, but this could be our moment to stand… to stand up and celebrate all those over-tired, over-worked, underpaid, unrecognized and/or simply stressed out members of society!
Hoping to save time in the decision making process, I’ve come up with a pretty fair quality title, along with a helpful slogan;
Owl Day!
We don’t care WHOOO you are
We’re just glad you DOOOO your part!
I’ve taken the liberty of selecting a few posters to choose from, and might I suggest we select a day in early January?
This would give us plenty of time to argue about the photos, and also gets us safely past all the New Years Resolutions we’ve no intention of keeping.
