The World is My Stage…

While I could regale you for hours with all the times I’ve performed over the years, would it be worth the mention if my only audiences were fictional ones?

Well, they weren’t all fictional, to be totally fair about things.  My performance career began very early on, where I learned to hone my speech and drama skills on any and all of my baby dolls.

From there, I branched out over the years to include any living animal that was either willing to stay and listen or coralled long enough to endure my theatrical onslaught!

Eventually, my poor audience members would run when they saw me preparing for one of my performances, leaving me to talk to myself… which I readily did!

If you were to ask any one of my adult children, I’m sure they would attest to my ability to give such lengthy speeches that they wished they could escape, just as all my childhood audience victims had done!

So, there you have it, my friends!

As the title of this post reflects, as far as performing and/or speech giving… The world really is my oyster.

These boots are still made for walking…

Daily writing prompt
What are your favorite physical activities or exercises?

Hands down, my favorite physical activity is walking! Whether it’s indoors or outdoors, work or play… I want to be on my feet and moving about.

When I was small, my feet carried me to safety.

When I grew and became a mother, walking was my escape from all the noise and business of things.

Now? Any physical form of exercise or activity I do, tends to fall under the old adage, an object in motion stays in motion… I know everyone’s heard of that reference!

I have always loved exercise and/or anything outdoors and adventurous. Unfortunately, this body can’t handle the truth, as Jack Nicholson so eloquently put it… kind a sorta!

Fortunately for me, walking has always been my first love, and it’s the only form of exercise that doesn’t seem to hurt so badly… so there’s that.

Here, have a cookie…

Take it to the Street…

Sesame Street that is…

What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

In the words of my favorite monster,

E is for Effort… that’s good enough for me!

Here, have a cookie…

Don’t be afraid! I’m not really a monster… honest!

Hero’s to Zero’s…

Daily writing prompt
What’s your favorite cartoon?

Even though I don’t watch cartoons, nor have I for some years now, I will still attempt to answer the prompt this morning!

The only answers I have within my mental arsenal come from a good many seasons ago, so they look much different than they did back in the day.

Apparently, age has not been so kind to them…

Bugs Bunny was quite the athlete, what with all the popping in and out of all those rabbit holes…

But, it seems that time and too many carrots have done their work…

My only other favorite cartoons from the past were basically Disney productions, so they’re movies instead of cartoons, but this is my blog and I can do what I want!

Of all the classics to choose from, I will say that Robin Hood was, and still is, one of my all time favorite Cartoon‘s, if you will! Robin Hood was such a hero of the downtrodden, as well as, an adept tree swinger and lady charmer…

One can hardly recognize the fox he is today… what with Maid Marian running away with the Sherriff, some years after they moved away from Sherwood Forrest…

I have come to the determination that it’s better to keep my favorite cartoon character’s memory alive, rather than focusing on the harsh realities of most hero’s lives… after the cartoon is over!

Anyways, wanna cookie?

The Tale’s I Could Tell…

Daily writing prompt
What could you do less of?

I could go on for days with the many stories of times I’ve made a right mess of things… but for now, I’ll just give a few tidbits.

For starters, I’m one of the worst Christmas light roller upper’s known to man… I’m better off leaving them on the house all year round, or tossing them in the bin!

I’m not one of the most patient people around and I’m notorious for making a mess of opening a package. I have a vivid memory of accidentally ripping a large bag of candy open and flinging it across the kitchen… the kids had a party cleaning that mess up!

Last but not least, there’s my habit of making a royal mess of a single bang trim. One tiny miscalculation… and my repeated attempts at correcting the error only end up making a bigger mess!

Yes, I realize that the prompt asked what I could do less of… and no, I’m not going to satisfy that question with an answer! Why?

Why would I want to do less of anything, when there is always something I could focus on doing more of?

I won’t write less, I won’t love less, no sense in trying less, or even living less. I live by faith not fear, so there goes doing less of the fear thing. I live by grace and forgiveness, so out the window goes less of self shame, guilt, and loving myself less. Sorry… I got nothin here!

I suppose I’m more of a do morer than a do lesser kind of girl!

And… I’m definitely a mess maker, too!

Here, have a cookie…

They’re messy, but Oh So Good!

My Stories…

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

I know I’ve already mentioned it, but the biggest event for me last year was writing a fantasy/fiction novel!

Maybe this next year’s positive event will be getting it published.  As we’re currently still homeless and without a physical mailing address, it’ll just have to wait.

It’s not a matter of if, but when…

Timing is everything!

Wanna cookie?

All the time…

Do you ever see wild animals?

Whether it’s fake animals,

Animal animals,

Or fully grown adults acting like animals…

I see one of them nearly every day!

Want a cookie?

Oh Goody…

Share five things you’re good at.

I love sharing! This is a wonderful opportunity to share in five different ways…

I know that I can bake, so I’ll share some cookies with you.

I hope I’m good at being a writer, trying to share my imagination…

Each day, I seek to encourage you with something or other…

I’ve boatloads of love to offer…

Having listed those four things with you, I realize that I’ve only one thing left to share. This one may be at the end of the list but is far from the least of what I would strive to give you…

I pray!

I pray for your hearts, your health, and your happiness! I pray for your dreams, your desires, and your destination! I pray that you love deeply, laugh heartily, and live to the fullest!

Prayer goes farther than any other earthly good talent I’ve got, so there’s that…

Here, have a cookie…

Finally! A Holiday Prompt…

What is one thing you would change about yourself?

While I don’t actually have an elf, I do happen to know a few.

The big thing up at the pole this year is fashion for the young Elflet’s!

It so happens that I read about this very thing while reading Tilly’s invitation from Santa last week.

The theme floating around the workshop has been labeled “Functional Fashion,” according to Santa.

Tilly, herself, will be traveling to the pole two full days ahead of Christmas Eve, just for all the finishing work needed on her own new dress, coat, and sleigh harness.

We,re all so excited!

Don’t worry, I’ll be taking lots of pictures that I will then share with you.

For now, a cookie will have to do…
