I Finally Stopped Running…

Daily writing prompt
How often do you walk or run?

As I answered the question last year from an actual exercise point of view, I chose to think of the question metaphorically, if you will.

I spent most of my considerable years running…

Running from trauma, hurt, pain, rejection, judgement and unforgiveness from others. I choose not to do that any longer!

Instead, I now choose to walk forward, one day at a time!

So, in answer to the prompt… I walk every day.

But, I also make my friends cookies each morning.

Not that I’m trying to tell you how to eat a cookie or anything, but if you nibble on the toe’s first… the rest of the foot tastes better!

  1. I can definitely understand running from all the hurt, and trauma that I either caused myself or others caused for me. Today I choose to run a different race, by the grace and mercy of a loving God. Iam an ex heroin addict, recovered by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Who has made me a new creature.

    2Co 5:17 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

To walk in newness of life is a miracle.

    1. What an amazing and transformative journey that must have been for you! How grateful we can be for His redeeming love! As you may also feel, He is the one who directs my path now, as well as how fast or slow I must journey there… God is good… All the time! Hugs, brother

  2. Such a heartfelt and powerful response. Your commitment to moving forward, one day at a time, is truly admirable.

And your comment about the toes and the cookies was very funny. Not many will get it, but oh boy, I got it. πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
