One would imagine that a writer would have a list longer than ones arm, readily available to regail you with insightful pearls of wisdom. Ya….No! Don’t get me wrong, I am a writer and I have read enough books to fill a small library. And trust me, I have many things I could pull from them to impress.
What I will do, is share my three favorite books with a quick why attatched. No fancy bells or whistles...
Hinds Feet on High Places by Hanna Hannard – It brought home to me who God was, to me, at a very delicate time in my life.
The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis – For me, this book was almost a preparatory step towards my salvation.
The Five Love Languages of Children by Gary Chapman – This book not only opened my eyes in how to love my girls, it has shaped how I try to fulfill love in others, children and adult alike. For me, this book was a life changer!
Journey With Me! 
See, sister, now I think we are twins born somewhat, um, er, apart! Hannah Hurnard’s Hinds Feet has been a favorite since I was a new baby believer. I try to read it at least once a year.
ALL of C.S. Lewis – I used to read the Chronicles of Narnia to my children when they were young. I still read him. Have you ever read Til We Have Faces, or the Space Trilogy–Lewis showed himself to be among the prophets in the final book of that trilogy, That Hideous Strength, because it speak exactly of today’s world.
C.S. Lewis also has books on love, but I haven’t read Chapman–I’ll have to go look for that.

I cannot say how many times I have reread from c s lewis and the Hinds feet series. I will have to check out those other lewis books…to be honest I did not read beyond the Chronicles

Those are all great books!
Lewis… Til We Have Faces makes me angry. I’ve read it twice. So there’s something about it. But still…it irks me! A Grief Observed is beautiful. And of course the Narnia books are all fantastic.
Another book series that’s very Narnia-ish you might want to check into: Andrew Peterson’s Wingfeather Saga.

I admit I felt angry, too, at first reading of Til We Have Faces; it was not at all what I expected from Lewis. Now I need to read it at least once a year–in many ways, she is me. Which one, you say? Both. The book is like a mirror.
