Wednesday Words…

Eustace is hoping he still has a job when he get’s back to the office Monday morning. He didn’t exactly give them a heads up about his summer plans. From what he’s told me, it went something like this:

Eustace: I’m feeling quite tired, today.

HR: Go home and get some rest. You’ve got sick leave, you know. If you need a few days off, it’s ok!

Eustace: Oh yeah, I forgot I had sick leave! Are you sure it’s not a problem? I sure could use a little break.

HR: Take as much time as you need, Eustace. It’s going to be a slow couple of days.

Eustace: Really? Thanks!

And then Eustace just left without another word… to anyone! He just left the office and went home.

Unfortunately, somewhere between resting for a couple of days and the here and now, Eustace neglected to call-in, so to speak. He just left work, paddled his way out to The Torrent on a make-shift raft, and never looked back.

The camel hopes there’ll be a welcome back party waiting, but I’m not so sure. It’ll be a miracle if he even has a job when he get’s back!

I wonder, do camels qualify for unemployment? Perhaps, a doctor’s note or something might make him eligible for disability? I told him not to hold his breath on the disability stuff… I’ve been denied twice! For a camel? It’d be easier for him to fit through the eye of a needle, or something like that.

Oh well, we’ll figure things out, once we get back home. There’s plenty to do around the barnyard if he needs a job. I offer room and board to all my crew… whether they be on, or off the ship!
