When I was a little girl, I found a good number of things that I thought were cool, none of which lasted all that long, i.e. dolls, crayons or my Easy-Bake Oven. Back then, we would often sing the phrase, “Finders keepers, Losers weepers,” when we found something cool and someone else wanted it!
As a child, the phrase seemed rather funny when using it on a sibling or classmate, though it holds little humor for many, later on in life.
As my own life progressed, I amassed a number of really cool things that I told myself were so important, like kids, a great church reputation, as well as many awesome friends.
However, I discovered that children will grow up, moving beyond us, and that reputation I thought I wanted within the church, well it turned out far differently than I’d hoped. Alas, those friends I spoke of earlier have simply faded beyond sight. They, along with my family, have long since turned their view away from the scene of my existence. Do not judge them harshly, please! Everyone has a journey that moves them in any number of directions, sometimes together, and sometimes not. There are far too many reasons to suggest, as to why this occurs, so let’s just say that the time train rolls forward for us all, and many are just trying not to fall off, or get run over!
With over fifty years of experiences and memories, I’ve grown weary of chasing after, grasping onto, and clinging to far too many worthless trinkets (not referring to people specifically, just the need for holding onto them) … or perhaps, I’ve simply become jaded over the years.
While it might not fall under the category of cool to whomever asked the question, my salvation happens to be the one thing I still bear… and the only thing that truly matters to me, at the end of the day!
When I consider the phrase “Finders keepers, Losers weepers,” in light of salvation and the state of the world today… not only is it NOT funny, but it holds eternal significance…
so, ya, you probably didn’t see this one coming, did ya?!
Well, that’s enough said about the matter. Enjoy a cookie and have a lovely day, my friends… hugs

I feel you, Sister. Hugs

Everyone’s posts feel a little weary in recent days. I thought it was just me, but maybe it is more the time we are in. Salvation is truly the best and most important things to find and hold onto. Nonetheless, I am blessed that we can be friends, even if only from a distance. Hugs

I’m glad to see someone else has noticed this pattern of weariness this week also. I’ve tried writing several times this week and can’t seem to ditch that undertone.
